Sound Camel was asked to install 20 acoustic ceiling panels in a preschool in Rutland to minimize disruptive echoes, particularly in the nap room, making it easier for children to relax and sleep. Effective classroom noise management is essential not only for creating restful spaces like nap rooms but also for fostering a calm, focused environment in the broader learning areas. By addressing noise at its source and improving acoustics, we help educators and children thrive in a setting designed for both play and learning.
Enhancing Learning Environments
For many students, including those who are easily distracted or sensitive to sound, the classroom can be overwhelming. Excessive noise can lead to decreased productivity, poor concentration and higher stress levels. That’s why we were thrilled to contribute to the learning environment at Awasisak Achakos Head Start with a custom acoustic ceiling installation designed to reduce noise and create a calm, focused atmosphere.
Why School Acoustics Matter
Poor acoustics can significantly affect students’ ability to learn. Classrooms are often full of distractions—talking, moving chairs, or even outdoor noise—which makes it hard for students to focus on the lesson. Acoustically treated spaces improve speech intelligibility, reduce reverberation and create a quiet, productive environment.
