Soundproofing for Walls

Soundproofing for Walls

With a density of 13 lbs/ft³ SONOpan is one of the densest and most effective soundproofing materials available. SONOpan is made from 100% recycled wood and is available at any Home Depot across Canada. It is one of the primary building blocks we use to limit airborne sound from transferring from one space to another.

Soundproofing for Floors

Soundproofing for Floors

Filling cavities between floors prevents an amplification of acoustic energy in the open resonant holes. In addition to acoustic mineral wool cavity insulation we recommend using a soundproofing flooring underlayment such as SONOpanX because of it’s high Impact Insulation Class (IIC) rating for stopping sound vibrations from being transmitted through the building.

With a density of 16 lbs/ft³ SONOpanX works with floating engineered wood and laminate, solid hardwood flooring, locking vinyl, glued down and glue assist engineered floors, tiles and carpet installations.

When You Need Soundproofing

Soundproofing is essential for creating a peaceful and productive environment, whether at home or in a commercial setting. In residential spaces, soundproofing can greatly enhance quality of life by reducing noise from neighboring units or busy streets − this is especially crucial for bedrooms, where rest and relaxation are paramount. Additionally, soundproofing can help maintain privacy within the home, preventing conversations and activities from being overheard by others.

In commercial settings soundproofing is equally important for creating a conducive atmosphere for work or leisure. Minimizing distractions in offices, allowing employees to focus on tasks without being disturbed by external noises. Similarly, in entertainment venues such as theaters or recording studios, soundproofing ensures optimal acoustics and prevents sound leakage, enhancing the overall experience for patrons and performers. Whether for personal comfort or professional functionality, soundproofing plays a vital role in enhancing the tranquility and efficiency of any space.
